A special message
from Mary ...
Hello! My name is Mary. I am a mother of three beautiful little girls whose ages are 7, 4, and 3 1/2 months. I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in church activities, travel, camping, reading, listening to music, and of course writing. I discovered my desire for writing as a teenager when I would randomly fill the back of a placemat or a napkin in a local restaurant during dinner or coffee night. My creativity would vary from a simple note to myself or a friend to possibly a short poem or the start of a short story. In 2006, I completed a "Freelance Writing" course through Education Direct. It was during the duration of this particular course I realized I had an aspiration for journalism as a full-time career. My interest in working as a freelancer comes from my being a mother. I enjoy having the ability and freedom to stay-at-home with my children; however, I continue to feel the need to fulfill my desire to write. I am presently enrolled at Lake Land Community college; seeking a degree in English. After completing my Associate degree, I plan to transfer to Eastern Illinois University to complete my Bachelors degree in Journalism. Currently, my availability includes; all local happenings in the Coles County Area, newsletters for local businesses and non-profit organizations, travel writing within the state of Illinois, and additional miscellaneous projects (upon acceptance).
