I just got a job working 4 days a week, but it's too much and I'd prefer to work 3. How do I approac Thu, 16 Oct 2008 12:27:36 -0500
I'm working in a shop, it's relaxed and friendly but I get few breaks and I'm on my feet 8 hours a day. I'm working 4 days in a row and it's too much for me (scoff all you want). I'm trying to start off a freelance career in art at the same time and it's stopping me from doing what I want to do.I can live without the extra income, and I'd like to cut down to three days a week.Having only been working there for 2 weeks and only recently in the interview saying I could work 4 days, how do I approach my employer without her getting angry at the fact I told her I was happy to work 4 days? What rights do I have - and if she says no I can't cut back my hours, what are my options?
